Through our unique guitar orchestra approach, students learn more than just songs. Founder, Lead Teacher
Marc Alonzo is the founder and lead teacher of Pines Music Co. bringing more than 25 years of experience as a musician, educator, ensemble director, guest conductor, and clinician. Marc has taught and led students from elementary school through college and has worked with ensembles in educational and ministry settings. Through Pines, he combines his passion for guitar, ensemble playing, and accessible music education to help students develop real musicianship, confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love of making music together.
Pines Music Co. uses Loog Guitars exclusively in our Kids program, providing young musicians with an instrument designed to make learning guitar approachable, engaging, and rewarding from the very beginning.
Pines Kids | Ages 5+
Pines Kids is a beginner-friendly guitar and musicianship program designed for young students ages 5 and up. Students learn on Loog Guitars, a thoughtfully designed three-string guitar that is perfectly suited for young players and makes it easier for students to build proper technique and experience early success. Through our unique guitar orchestra approach, students develop music reading, rhythm, ear training, technique, music theory, and performance skills while learning to play alongside their peers. No prior experience is required. Our goal is to help young musicians build confidence, creativity, discipline, and a lifelong love of making music.
Pines Adults | Ages 18+
It’s never too late to start. Pines Adults is designed for beginners ages 18 and up who want to learn guitar in a welcoming, social, and structured environment. Students build a strong foundation in guitar technique while learning to read music, understand rhythm and theory, develop their ear, play chords and melodies, and make music together in an ensemble. Whether you’ve always wanted to play guitar or are finally making time for yourself, Pines Adults gives you a place to learn, grow, and enjoy the process.
